Builtwise Constructions was appointed as the Registered Building Practitioner of the industrial fit-out for Kathmandu’s new 25,000m2 purpose-built Australian Distribution Centre, ensuring that all project requirements were adhered to under Kathmandu’s Agreement for Lease with DEXUS Property.
The scope of works included the installation of state-of-the-art automated sortation and racking systems, as well as the integrated design and installation of fire hydrants, hose reels, fire sprinklers, fire exit and emergency lighting and general lighting at high level.
The process also required the integration of Kathmandu’s workforce to facilitate the ‘live-testing’ of the automation systems. WHS&E management encountered new challenges with the crossover of construction workers and operational warehousing staff.
