Enviropacific is a national industry leader in the provision of contaminated site remediation. They required the construction of a new facility for Solve, Altona – their industry-leading, permanent thermal desorption treatment plant.
Design co-ordination and development, trade procurement and the sourcing of regulatory approvals was essential thoughout the early stages of this project. Site specific tasks involved clearing and processing the debris on site, removing all pre-existing contaminants and using geotechnical engineering to establish a stable construction surface.
The design stage gave Builtwise the ability to incorporate the existing dwelling into part of the new receival plant, creating a more functional working space.
Deliverables included the construction of new warehouses to facilitate the receiving and holding of material for both pre and post-treatment, a specialized jointless slab, designed specifically for the heavy processing plant and the resurfacing of surrounding asphalt.
As part of the development, a state-of-the-art truck wash bay was designed and constructed with the purpose of ensuring that contaminated material would not exit the facility.
Throughout the entire building process, Builtwise Constructions upheld and monitored OH&S standard to ensure the project was delivered safely.
The new facility now provides a cost-effective solution for waste owners and generators from rural, residential and commercial locations across Victoria, and certainty in the disposal of prescribed industrial wastes and contaminated soils, helping to improve these environments and make our communities safer for all.
